About myMQ
myMQ is the Macquarie University's Student Portal.
It's the easy way to have resources centrally at your finger tips and receive information anytime, anywhere in the world.
The myMQ Portal has been designed to bring all student resources to one access point, myMQ links include :
- Student Email
- Calendar
- On Line Teaching Facility
- Library catalogue and reserve systems
- eStudent
- Unit home pages
- Many other student and university resources
Throughout 2005 you will see changes in the myMQ Portal that will to give you access to the majority of your systems by signing on initially to the Portal and then linking to other systems.
Who Has Access to myMQ
Once you have enrolled in an award course at Macquarie, you will automatically have access to myMQ and receive a letter with your initial account and password details.
Must I use myMQ
All Macquarie students are issued with an official University email account which is accessed by myMQ. It is now University policy that the University issued email account will be used for official University communication. All students are required to access their University account frequently. Alternatively, email can be forwarded to another account but each student is responsible for the information sent to a non-Macquarie account and for managing mailbox size to ensure that account remains active.
How Can I make best use of myMQ
- Start to use it daily.
- Add it to your Favourites or make it your Home Page.
- Keep up to date with the latest news and events, University and Worldwide.
- Regularly access your email; it is a channel that the university will use for official communications with you.
- Academic staff will be using the email to send you information.
- You can forward your Portal email to another account; but keep that forwarding information current, it's your responsibility.
- Link into your resources based on your individual unit codes.
- Access your exam timetable
- Assign a strong password, change it regularly or if you suspect that it has become known by another person, it will sync all your systems passwords.
